Baseball is OVER!!!!!!

We just finished baseball (finally). Since February we have been doing baseball non-stop. I was elected to the Little League Board last year, I also thought it would be fun to coach Kaiden's boys machine pitch team (I coached Treyson's last year and we won the end of the year tourney). Well it was alot different coaching Kaiden than Treyson. This will explain Kaiden. My sister Sharla bought him a shirt that reads "I don't have ADHD it's just....Look there's a rabbit" Anyway, it was definitely interesting. I think he was the comic relief for the whole season, which was nice since the boys were 6-8 years old. Someone asked me why I coached baseball instead of girls softball, let me just say 5 words "There's no crying in baseball". RJ coaches a Major League boys team (10-12 year olds), after losing every game for the last 3 years they won their last season game, and then won the league tourney, it was awesome. Treyson was league age 9 so he played on a minor league team. He did a great job. He was their number one pitcher. His coach said that he had never seen anything like Treyson pitching, the faster he throws the more accurate he is. Trey's team also won the end of the season tourney. Treyson also made the 9-10 year old All-Star team. They played for a week in Cedar City and were the consolation champs (which I think is really good considering they played Cedar and St. George teams) We had 55 kids to pick from and St. George and Cedar have over 500. Lea played T-Ball this year. She definitely is more suited to be a cheerleader (dang it). After she hit the ball and while she was running the bases she would purposely knock her helmet off so she could flip her hair while she ran. How did I end up with a girly-girl. So between the 4 teams schedules and me being on the little league board, we were at the baseball park Monday-Friday and all day Saturday. Man I am sure glad it is over. We just finished baseball on July 24th and school starts August 14th, so we really only get 3 weeks of summer vacation.

Funny Kaiden

OK, I stole this idea from a friends blog. Kaiden keeps me laughing all the time so I decided to write the things down that he says. Here's just a few in the last few days:
(11) So I have a dry-erase calendar that I keep all of my appointments on for the month, it's the only thing that keeps me on track. Everyday that passes I erase that day. Well in February we were very busy trying to move so I didn't get March up for about a week, and the board set empty. Kaiden came running into the room very concerned and asked, "Mom, are we going to die?" I said, "why would you say that?" Kaiden responded, "They're are no more days on the calendar."
(10) We were at church and during sacrament meeting a little boy was running up and down the aisle. The mom kept getting up and chasing him. He made it to the light switch and turned the lights off. Kaiden looked up just as the mom was turning the lights back on and asked, "Mom who did that?" I said, "some bad kid," and Kaiden said, "No, some bad mom."
(9) The other night I had fallen asleep on the couch. I woke up around 2:00 am and Kaiden was in the living room watching Racing Stripes. They started to play the national anthem and Kaiden stood up and put his hand on his heart. (so cute) I said, "Kaiden let's go to bed it is 2:00 in the morning." Which he replied, "Mom, are you crazy, it's 2:00 in the night."
(8) We went into the Bishops office the other night for Kaiden's baptism interview. The Bishop aksed Kaiden if he knew what it ment to be baptized. Kaiden said, "It means my dad is going to dunk me." Too funny!
(7) I was at the store, and Kaiden happened to see my car in the parking lot on his walk home from school. He came in to find me. I said to him, "where is Treyson and Lea?" He then said, "I don't know, I didn't see them after school." I said, "Bud, you can't leave the school Treyson will be looking for you and wondering where you are at." Which he replied, "I'm at the store with you."
(6) It's been awhile but I've been really busy. The other day Kaiden was talking to RJ about being baptized in November. RJ was showing him how to hold his nose and how he would lower him in the water. RJ was jocking around with him and said, "what if I hold you under for 5 minutes?" Which Kaiden replied, "Why do you want to kill me?"
(5) My friend Lyndee and I took Kaiden and her daughter Kaylee to an Herbalist, (long story and very weird). So we thought she was going to just tell us what herbs she thought Kaiden and Kaylee could benefit from. We went into her office and Kaiden started playing in the corner. Kaylee set on a chair and the lady held her feet in her hand and started naming all of the things that Kaylee was lacking in her body(it's called a foot reading, Like I said very weird) Lyndee and I were sitting behind this lady and looking at each other like what the heck is she doing. She said a few more things that Kaylee was lacking and Kaiden, not looking like he was paying attention said, "How do you know" My friend Lyndee started laughing. The herbalist turned around and looked at Lyndee and she said, "I'm sorry but that was funny."
(4) Kaiden wanted to play with my sister Sharla's son Gavon. Sharla and I were at my moms house and Kaiden walked in and asked Sharal, "Hey Sharla can Gavon play?" Sharla said, "no not today". Kaiden then said "No, Can Gavon Hunt play." Like if he added his last name she would say yes.
(3) We were camping this weekend and my sister Sharla made Kaiden some hot chocolate. He walked a few steps and lifted up his hand really fast and spilled the hot chocolate on the ground. Sharla made him another cup and he walked a few steps and tripped and spilled it again. He then lifted up his hands and said, "What's wrong with me."
(2) We have a screen door on our front door that has a little pin in it to open the door wider. Kaiden pulled it out and it rolled down the front porch steps (which are cement). I asked him where the pin went and he told me it rolled off to the left. I looked in the flower bed below to left and couldn't find it, he then send no I think it rolled off to the right. I looked in the flower bed to the right and couldn't find it. I was getting really mad and said, "Kaiden show me how the pin rolled." As I was still searching in the flowers I heard him say, "but mom this will hurt my head." I looked up and he was laying at the top of the porch steps getting ready to roll. I should have known better.
(1) we were doing homework the other night and it was taking him about 15 min. to write his name. I was getting really frustrated and held his head in my hand and said, "Kaiden I know you know how to write your name if you will just look inside your brain you can remember too." He then closed his eyes and opened them very mad and said, "Mom why can spongebob look at his brain but I can't."

Due West

In 2006 Due West came to Enterprise with the Nashville Tribute Band. The Nashville Tribute band has released two cds. Their 1st one is intitled Nashville Tribute to the prophet Joseph Smith and the 2nd is "Trek" Nashville Tribute to the pioneers, both cds are awesome. Anyway in 2006 my cousin Dan Truman (piano player for Diamond Rio) and co-writer and producer for Nashville tribute came to Enterprise. They brought Due west with them and did a concert at the high school. After the show Dan asked my mom if we would feed the band at Marv's. We did so and fell in love with these guys. Since then we have attended several concerts in which Due West was playing, the most recent was when they opened for Craig Morgan in Cedar City, they even brought their guitars and played at Marv's for a few hours. We have become great friends with these guys and really love their music. Check them out on Duewest.com
